An out-of-hospital cardiac arrest (OHCA) is one of the leading causes death in world. The survival rate can be influenced by chain survival. school institution that has opportunity to promote education citizens basic life support (BLS), increasing number trained bystanders. This study aimed identify theoretical and practical knowledge self-reported skills BLS, order characterize motivation intervene an emergency. A quantitative, descriptive, cross-sectional analytical survey type was developed with a sample 1215 students enrolled 10th-grade secondary 2019–2020 Portugal. results point fragile appropriation field BLS.
